When should I upgrade my PC?

Here at Stince Built, we are committed to providing the best experience we can, both before and after your purchase. This week is a huge week for the PC industry, as Computex in Taiwan is in full swing. At Computex, manufacturers share upcoming products, prototypes, and some wild and wacky concepts.

AMD, Intel, and Nvidia all had keynote events, with information regarding upcoming launches being shared. This post focuses primarily on AMD’s announcement of Ryzen 9000 Series.

If you are in the market for a new PC, most people will tell you to wait for the launch before purchasing. We don’t blame you if you do. However, I would like to share an alternative option that I have, and do recommend to friends and family.

If currently available AM5 motherboards meet your needs (Wi-Fi, LAN, storage, USB options, etc), we’d suggest considering a system with everything else that meets your needs, but a temporary CPU. We can do high end builds with a Ryzen 5 7600 as the CPU, and you can swap it later. Everything else in your system will remain under warranty. We firmly believe that you should be able to upgrade your system over time, and AMD lends itself to that quite well.

If currently available CPUs meet your performance needs, then you can purchase a system now. The new CPUs didn’t just magically make the current gen CPUs slower just by existing. Also, a major missing piece from the announcement was the presence of the X3D CPUs, which we all know are king for gaming. Last time around, the 5800X3D made AM5 look like a bad investment all around. This time, AM5 is a fine investment, but you may want to wait for the 9000X3D SKUs anyways, which we know nothing about at this time.

Currently, the 7800X3D is pushing 200+ FPS in Warzone, 150+ in EFT, and more than 300 FPS in other e-sports titles. If that covers what you want, we’re always working to get you the best pricing on your build. Right now is a good time to get a deal on a 7800X3D.

Shortly, we’ll be sharing our full thoughts on the AMD announcements from Computex. Stay tuned for that!
